Our Approaches to Community Engagement

There is a broad range of community engagement approaches that can be adopted and applied to involve our citizens, stakeholders and providers. The type of involvement varies depending on the role and influence of citizens, stakeholders and providers in the planning and decision making processes. The following table maps a continuum of stakeholder engagement and degree of involvement by purpose, and tools that can support the engagement activity. The map is a guide for developing community engagement action plans for all planning and decision activities of the LHIN. It signals the LHIN’s responsibility to be clear about the purpose of engagement and the LHIN role and commitment to the people involved.
