The Excellent Care for All Act (ECFAA) came into law in June 2010 and is a strategy based on the following principles:

  • Quality and its continuous improvement is a critical goal across the health care system
  • Quality of care is supported by the best evidence and standards of care

  • Defines quality for the health care sector
  • Reinforces shared responsibility for quality of care
  • Builds and supports boards’ capability to oversee the delivery of high quality of care
